I bought this seat for my 10 month old because we like the convenience of an infant carrier and wanted to use one a bit longer. I did so many google searches and absolutely could not find a review that had detailed information about the fabric...so here it is! I was able to look at the regular Onboard Air 35 and love that it has mesh fabric to keep baby cool and although this isn't exactly the same it also seems very breathable...on the black part. I am not pleased with the fabric on the infant insert and can best describe it as the same type of fabric used on lawn furniture. I plan to use this carseat for my next baby and more than likely will not be using the infant insert because it is so rough and plastic-feeling. After a lot of research, I ordered this seat and was very happy with my decision. Got it in the mail & loved it -- very sturdy, soft, stylish. I just realized today that it's too big (depth-wise) for my car (2000 Toyota 4Runner). It just doesn't fit. So, I would measure your back seat before purchasing this one if you have a car or smaller SUV. If size wasn't an issue then I would definitely keep this seat.

I purchased this seat after hours upon hours of research. It is given the highest rating for crash tests on consumer reports and I had read about its great fabric. I must say the fabric is the nicest I've felt of all the car seats I've seen and the amount of padding is unmatched. It seems long enough to accommodate long babies, although I did not test it with a baby as mine hasn't been born yet. The harness is easy to adjust and the seat easily connects to the base. I really like how the base is more like a bowl than a usual base, making it easy to place the seat in; more like putting the seat in a bowl rather than looking for the connection points to match up as other bases require.

The only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 is that this is a very large seat, mostly in the length from baby's head area to toe area.
